Living a purposeful life is a basic human right, not a bonus.
We believe the experience of learning key tasks which contribute to running a farm are worthwhile and valuable skills. We are teaching our young people the joy and excitement of growing their own food.
We cultivate a vegetable garden and encourage students to follow the process of planting through to harvesting. Once harvested the produce can be pickled, preserved and eaten.
We share food with students, families and groups who work with us. The delight of tasting home grown food is a privilege to share.
There are always jobs to do on a farm throughout the year and especially at harvest (August – November.
Picking fruit requires great care as it bruises easily. Trained and experienced pickers are in high demand. We also have gleaners who pick fallen fruit ensuring waste is kept to a minimum. We would rather give our fruit away than see it rot on the ground.
